6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

In her new memoir, What Will Be Worn, Melissa Fagan tenderly explores her mother and grandmother’s lives, and her own life, and the ways in which they have been linked by a once grand  department store – McWhirters in Brisbane, later bought by Myer–  and a shared interest in fashion and clothes and they ways in which they have shaped women’s lives across decades. This fascinating conversation will cover themes including fashion and the demise of the department store, the bonds that mother and daughters share, our flirtations with wealth and glamour, and the painful but ultimately joyful legacies of family. Melissa Fagan will return from Brisbane to her hometown of Sydney to discuss her remarkable story.
